My husband has filed for divorce. What do I do?
We have decided to divorce, what about the kids?
We can’t agree on anything in our divorce.
I can’t make decisions when I am so angry and hurt.
Divorce causes limbo in the lives of every family member, most especially the children. Every stage in the divorce process opens old wounds and creates new ones. Couples must deal with the personal, emotional trauma, the trauma of their children as well as the legal maze associated with divorce. Working through these emotional issues while trying to manage the legal process can be overwhelming and confusing.
Take Charge, Inc. has developed several personalized services to help individuals or couples determine what they need at this critical time in their lives.
DIVORCE COUNSELING:
Terri offers Divorce Counseling to individuals who are already in the process of divorce or have experienced a divorce. Terri's focus is helping individuals move past the trauma of divorce and move forward into a new and different stage in their life.
CO-PARENTING COUNSELING:
Terri offers Co-Parenting Counseling to parents currently in the divorce process or already divorced trying to implement their current parenting plan. The goal of Co-Parenting Counseling is to help divorced parents have a cooperative parenting relationship together while living separate lives.
DIVORCE COACHING:
Terri offers Divorce Coaching to help clients in the divorce process interact and communicate with their spouse more effectively to achieve the best possible outcome. Terri offers two models of Divorce Coaching for individuals or couples beginning the divorce process; Collaborative Process and the Non-collaborative Process.
COLLABORATIVE PROCESS:
The Collaborative process unites Terri as your divorce coach with your divorce attorney. Terri guides you through the process and advises you on decisions pertaining to your divorce. She works with you to obtain your best possible outcome from your divorce from child custody/visitation to property settlements. She participates in attorney consultations, as well as, meetings with your spouse and their attorney. She becomes your advocate in the divorce process. She becomes the voice of calm objectivity and reason and in the maze of legal and emotional chaos.
NON-COLLABORATIVE PROCESS:
The Non-Collaborative process incorporates Terri as your personal, individual coach within the traditional legal process. Terri becomes your advocate in the divorce process and the voice of calm objectivity and reason, but not necessarily in tandem with your legal team or the legal team of your spouse.
MEDIATION:
Terri offers Mediation services for couples already in the divorce process but are unable to agree on the terms of the divorce. Terri uses a systematic approach to incorporate every decision that must be addressed in the divorce process. Even in the most high conflict divorce, Terri can help couples address the root of the conflict to guide you to mutually agreeable terms. Terri is also available to help couples resolve any unforeseen post-divorce issues that surface after all the papers are signed.
